Dr Neala Milburn provides private inpatient rehabilitation at Nambour Selangor Private Hospital.
Dr Milburn obtained her medical degree as an inaugural graduate of the Griffith University School of Medicine in 2008. She completed her specialist training across numerous Hospitals in South East Queensland, but has been largely invested in practice on the Sunshine Coast for the majority of this time.
After being awarded with her Fellowship in 2016, Dr Milburn successfully developed a private Rehabilitation Unit on the Fraser Coast as a sole practitioner. Now this unit is established, Dr Milburn has taken a position at the Sunshine Coast University Public Hospital as a staff specialist, where she will be caring once again for Sunshine Coast residents.
Dr Milburn is a fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine, a faculty of the Royal Australian College of Physicians.
Dr Milburn has a special interest in the rehabilitation of patients with acquired brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and those with limb amputations. She is particularly passionate about caring for those with neurological diseases (e.g polio, stroke, Multiple Sclerosis) and rehabilitation in the younger, working aged patient as well as the older adult. Dr Milburn also treats patients following joint replacement surgery, fractures or trauma and those who are deconditioned from long illnesses.
Dr Milburn looks forward to facilitating a high level of rehabilitation and being involved in the care of those with a long-standing or temporary disability on the Sunshine Coast. She believes in holistic care and really enjoys working within the rehabilitation team to get great functional outcomes for her patients and their families.
