Maternity Service
Our Hospital has established itself as a leader in the provision of women’s health care services on the Sunshine Coast. Based on a unique philosophy of collaborative care between midwives, obstetricians and anesthetists, the Hospital’s Maternity Service supports parents’ choice of birthing options. Families have the option of water birth, natural birth following one or more previous caesarean births, and natural twin birth. A comprehensive range of childbirth education programs and a perinatal support service complete the Service’s circle of care.

Intensive Care Unit
Our four-bed Intensive Care Unit is equipped with state-of-the-art monitoring equipment for critically ill patients requiring high level nursing care. The Unit is managed by specialist nursing staff and a full-time intensive care specialist. Nambour Selangor Private Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit also offers patients respiratory support via invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation.

Renal Dialysis
Our eight-chair Renal Dialysis Unit is fully equipped with the latest in dialysis technology. Staffed by experienced, specialist renal nurses and consulting Nephrologists the Renal Dialysis Unit provides haemodialysis for patients with kidney disease and end stage renal failure. The Unit prides itself on providing holistic, patient-focused care in a comfortable environment.

Palliative Care Resource Services
Our Palliative Care Resource Nurse is committed to ensuring that people requiring palliative care and their families have access to appropriate information about their stage of illness and the support services they can access in the community. The Palliative Care Nurse works in conjunction with our consultant specialist in Palliative Medicine.

Paediatrics

Special Care Nursery
Our six-cot, fully equipped Level 2 Special Care Nursery is managed by specialist nursing staff and visiting paediatricians. The Nursery cares for babies born from 32 weeks’ gestation requiring specialised care, unwell term babies, and babies born prior to 32 weeks who require immediate transfer to a Brisbane hospital. Babies of Sunshine Coast families are also transferred to our Hospital’s Special Care Nursery from tertiary hospitals in Brisbane and provided with ongoing special care.

Surgery

Orthopaedics
Nambour Selangor Private Hospital operates a comprehensive general orthopaedic surgical service with a focus on joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee, and foot, hand and shoulder surgery. A wide range of orthopaedic surgeons attend the Hospital as Visiting Medical Officers.

Gynaecology / Gynaecological Oncology
Nambour Selangor Private Hospital provides a broad range of general gynaecology and gynaecological oncology services.

Gastroenterology
Gastroenterology services are available at our Hospital.

Vascular
General vascular surgery is performed at Nambour Selangor Private Hospital.

Ear, Nose and Throat
Our Hospital performs a range of generalised Ear, Nose and Throat surgery.

Urology
Nambour Selangor Private Hospital offers a comprehensive urology service (eg. Prostate surgery).

In terms of general surgery, Nambour Selangor Private Hospital offers a comprehensive spectrum of services including upper gastro-intestinal, pancreaticobiliary, colorectal and endocrine surgery.
