Pregnancy Scans

First trimester scan – investigating early pregnancy conditions including miscarriage, ectopics and uncertain dates

Nuchal translucency scan and first trimester screening – assessing risk of chromosome abnormalities between 11 – 14 weeks.

Prenatal diagnosis (chorionic villus sampling and amniocentesis) – providing certain diagnosis of chromosome abnormalities.

Second trimester morphology scan – detailed assessment of the baby for various conditions at 18 – 20 weeks.

Third trimester scan – investigating late pregnancy complications including growth, placenta and premature labour.

Other Scans

Pelvic scan – assessing the pelvis in women with menstrual disorders, infertility, pelvic pain and other gynaecologic conditions.

Saline sonohysterogram – assessing the uterus for problems such as polyps and fibroids.

Hysterosalpingo-contrast-sonography – assessing tubal patency in women with infertility.

All ultrasounds and procedures require a referral from your doctor.

Will I be given pictures of my baby?

We provide ultrasound images in a variety of formats – print, CD, DVD. 3D / 4D images are provided at no additional charge.

How much time should I allow for my ultrasound?

Allow up to 90 minutes for your appointment.

Delays are sometimes unavoidable due to difficult or complicated ultrasounds.

How much will my ultrasound cost?

We are unable to routinely offer bulk billing.

Our reception staff will advise you of the cost of the ultrasound and the expected Medicare rebate.
